![]() ![]() After finally ending her year-long fling with a man she only refers to as Bad Habit, the narcissistic, temperamental Alexandria Stone moves back home to New York to start her dream job. >!Where You Least Expect!!The Failing Hours!!Nobody's Baby But Mine!< by Susan Elizabeth Phillips (CR) - This scenario actually doesn't occur with the MMC and FMC but it's still a gut punch.Īny genres welcome except young adult or high school settings. But having FOUR of them with the jerk who used younow that’s another. I would never ride it but I love to read it. Basically, this is the literary version of that awful spinning carnival ride where the floor drops out from under you. Any recs out there that include an exquisitely excruciating scene in which the MMC either flat out pretends not to know the FMC or minimizes/mischaracterizes the nature of their relationship in public/among friends, particularly after they've communicated romantic interest in each other? I've read this scenario in three books in which the ache in the jaw and lump in the throat produced were so significant I just couldn't fathom how the author would bring me back around to accepting the MMC again. Sometimes I guess I crave a punch to the gut. ![]()
